Shirley Louise Nickelson Kuhlman Eberly of Casper, Wyoming passed away at Wyoming Medical Center on August 9, 2016. After battling dementia for many years she experienced a stroke that ended her suffering.

She was born April 28, 1938 to James George Nickelson & Mary Bretthauer Nickelson in a tar paper shack in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Shirley was the last born of their six children. Shirley graduated from Scottsbluff Senior High in 1956.

Shirley married Marvin (Bud) Eugene Kuhlman and they had two sons together, Kelley Dean & Kevin Steve. Bud & Shirley later divorced but remained friends. Shirley later married James Robert Eberly and they had a daughter, Shannan Noelle Coleman. Shirley & James divorced in 1985 & she never did marry again.

Shirley is survived by her 3 children; Kelley of Denver, Colorado; Kevin of Arvada, Colorado and Shannan of Casper, Wyoming. She is also survived by seven grandchildren. Melissa Seiler and Daron of San Diego, California; Elizabeth Louise Kuhlman of Arvada, Colorado; Katarina Rae Dickinson of Denver, Colorado; David Dean Kuhlman of Denver, Colorado; Allison Kuhlman of Fort Collins, Colorado; Alexandria Denise Eckhart of Casper, Wyoming and Nicole Marie Eckhart of Casper, Wyoming. In addition she was survived by to 2 great-grandchildren; Avery Roland Fields of Arvada, Colorado and Brecken Nicholas Seiler of San Diego, California. She also had and loved many grand and great-grandpuppies.

Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers Merle (Nick) Nickelson, Robert Nickelson and Chris Nickelson as well as her sisters Julia Marie Rosenberger and Doris Mae Riley.

Shirley wished to have her ashes spread in the mountains that she loved so much. A remembrance ceremony for her family is being planned for the summer of 2017.
