1957 - 2016

Joseph Sorell Jr. died peacefully, in his home, on August 27, 2016, with family by his side. Joe will always be remembered as a loving man who met a friend in everyone who crossed his path.

Joe was born October 27, 1957, in Sheridan, WY, to Joseph and Laura Sorell. He grew up in Douglas, Wyoming where he met and married the love of his life, Tammy; they were married on November 21, 1979. Together, they made a life and raised three children in Guernsey, WY while Joe was a member of the National Guard. He served in the Guard for 28 years. After returning to Douglas he worked in Glenrock doing janitorial work and was known as "Janitor Joe". Thereafter, he did janitorial work at Douglas high school where he ended his career in 2015. Joe was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who took pride in all of their accomplishments as if they were his own.

His survivors include his mother, Laura; wife, Tammy; children, Tiffanie (Robert) Smith, Joe (Robert Bryant) Sorell, and Kayla Sorell; grandchildren, TesSaundra-Smith, Abagale Smith, Mackenzie Smith, and Opal Smith; brothers, Gary (Kathy) Sorell, Steve (Char) Sorell; sister, Holli Hillaboe; mother and father-in-law; several nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, his father, Joe Sorell; brother, Chris; and sister, Laurie.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal services. A celebration of his life will take place from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Gathering Place.
