In Memory Of
Raymond Zimmerschied
1925 - 2016
On June 10, 1946 he married Alice Bartholow in Hardin, Mt. The joke was always that he married Alice for her money. She had $15.00 and he had $10.00. They were married for 64 years. He worked various construction jobs as an electrician. He owned his own business with his father Clifford. He worked for the Western Area Power, a branch of the Bureau of Reclamation from 1960 until his retirement.
Ray and Alice moved to Casper permanently in 1963 where they raised their children. He was active in his children's activities at Poison Spider School. He loved hunting and was always busy with one of his many grandchildren. He was always tinkering and making unique things. Some turned out and some nearly caused potentially disastrous results.
Ray was baptized at the Christian Church of Casper on April, 28, 1989; he was an active member.
He is survived by his 5 children Bruce (Anne) of Sheridan, Roy (Margaret), Gail (Bruce) of Casper, Jerry of Tonopah, AZ and Amy of Las Cruces, NM, one sister Norma Hahn of Billings, MT, 16 grandchildren, and an old school amount of great grandkids and 3 great great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice, son Stephen Raymond, his parents, two brothers, three sisters and his grandson Cory.
He moved into Park Place March 2015. He enjoyed telling old war stories with the guys. He especially loved eating at his favorite restaurant, G-MA's.
Military Honors will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at 10am at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held at Christian Church of Casper on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at 11am. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials in his name may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1760 E 12th St, Casper, WY 82601 or Christian Church of Casper, 8188 Zero Road, Casper, WY 82604.
