In Memory Of
Helen Maher
1928 - 2016

Helen (Seilbach) Maher, 87, went to be with our Lord on September 5, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center. She was surrounded by loved ones.

Helen was born September 25, 1928 in Casper, WY to George and Edna (Bott) Seilbach. Helen was the middle child of seven children. She attended Casper schools and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1946.

Helen married H. Donald Maher on August 20, 1946 and they had two children, Susan and Paul.

Helen had a work ethic instilled in her by her mother. She worked many odd jobs in her youth, she would always say "If you didn't have a job, mom will find you one!" Helen also worked for the Village Inn for sixteen years. She truly enjoyed socializing with people. She retired once, only to go back and work a few more years!

Helen was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, where she was a part of many groups. She also taught adult Sunday School classes and was a Prayer Warrior, praying for and with others.

Helen's hobbies included mall walking and spending time with her family. She was a voracious reader. Her favorite was the Bible, reading it many times over.

Helen is survived by her son Paul and his wife Sue of Casper; brother Robert and his wife Dawna of Rock Springs, WY, four granddaughters, Samantha (Cody) Howe, Tabitha (Eric) Smith, Tiffany (Matthew) Scott, Briana Maher, all of Casper; two grandsons, Douglas (Crystle) McCarty of Kearney, NE, and Kris (Ceci) Maher of Casper. Helen was the proud great grandmother of 16 children and one great-great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Vi Haller, her great friend for over 50+ years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Susan Guthrie, brother; Lawrence "Fen" Fenning; sisters; Florence Richman, Elsie Hess, Ruth Hamar and Judy Corkill, as well as her parents and grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 19, 2016 at Faith Assembly of God Church, 4301 Casper Mountain Road, Pastor Craig Mellendorf will officiate. There will be a Reception at the Church following Services. Memorial donations may be made in Helen's honor to Shepherd of the Valley Care Center.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Craig and Faith Assembly of God Church, Newcomer Funeral Home and Freedom Brewbaker and the entire staff at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center for all the support and care they gave to Helen.
