Carol Frances Nelson, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at her home alongside her loving husband. She was born in Oakland, California on December 5, 1944 to Francis and Margie Broussard. Carol was raised in Bakersfield, California where she graduated high school and attended Lyles Business School. After business school she went to work for Marathon Oil Company in Bakersfield. She later transferred with Marathon Oil to Casper, Wyoming where she met the love of her life, Terry; and soon thereafter got married. After 12 years at Marathon Oil, she then became the librarian at St. Anthony’s School where she worked for the next decade. Carol spent the end of her career at various assisted living homes fulfilling her passion for taking care of other people. Carol was a very loving and caring person. She always saw the best in everyone. She took great pride seeing her former students from St. Anthony’s become young adults. After retirement, spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest joy. One of Carol’s favorite quotes was “We are not put on this earth to see through one another. We are put on this earth to see one another through” by Gloria Vanderbilt.

Carol is survived by her Husband of 38 years, Terry Nelson of Casper, WY, Mother, Margie Fotis, of Bakersfield, CA; Son, Ryan (Codie) Nelson of Casper, WY; sisters, Kathy, of Ohio, and Cindy, of California; grandchildren, London and Isaac Nelson, of Casper, WY; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Francis Joseph Broussard; step-father, Sotir Fotis; and father-in-law, John Nelson; and sister-in-law, Joanie Hughes.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Casper, Wyoming.
