In Memory Of
Frank Fuhrer
1924 - 2016

On November 20, 2016, Casper lost one of its finest citizens, Frank Fuhrer, age 92. Frank was born September 1, 1924 in Bridgeport, NE to Conrad and Hattie (Achey) Fuhrer.

He was not a celebrity, or a politician. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a B-17 Co-Pilot in WWII and was employed with the Casper Air Traffic Control Tower for more than 22 years before retiring in 1983. More importantly than all of those things, was his life as a Christian. He was a member of Christian Church of Casper. He and his wife raised believing children. They worked in whatever capacity the Lord led them. He loved the land and grew beautiful gardens, earning the title Master Gardener. He was a hunter, fisherman, and a friend to many. So with a sad heart, we bid him goodbye. We will miss you Frank Fuhrer.

In addition to his parents, Frank was also preceded in death by his sisters, Clara Deboodt and Iva Teeters, and his brother, George Cook. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gloria Jean Fuhrer, Daughter, Susan (Timothy) McConkey, Son, James (Leanna) Fuhrer, Daughter, Barbara (Sid) Johnston, Daughter, Laura (Jeff) Miller; grandchildren, Zachery Fuhrer, Emily (Ryan) Mock, Thomas (Cassidy) Benjamin, Chelsea (Tye) Johnston-Gipbert, Joshua (Amanda) Aaron Johnston, Jessica (Jake) Frederick, Chris (Lauren) Miller, John (Brieawna Emily) Miller, James Miller, Tiffany (Eamonn) Carolan, Sarah (Tim) Fain, Chrissy (Evan) Norris, Adya (Robert) White; Great-Grandchildren, Liam Carolan, Keegan Carolan, Micah Fain, Ruthie Fain, Kassidy Frederick, Gideon Miller, Azariah Miller, Aerielle Fuhrer, Zachary Fuhrer, Sophia Mock, Theodore Mock, Mini Mock III, Hayden Gipfert, Quincee Johnston; and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Christian Church of Casper, 8188 Zero Road, Casper, WY, 82604.

Memorial contributions may be made to Casper Kids Against Hunger (NiCE Foundation.org) or Mission to South Africa, Brian Lund Forwarding Agent, Po Box 50063, Casper, Wyoming, 82605 in Frank's memory.
