Tessa Mae Dunlap 107 went to be with our Lord on January 25, 2017. Tessa was born on a ranch at Deloit, Wheeler County, Nebraska, to Scott H and Maude Workman Bowers on January 22, 1910.

Tessa Mae was preceded in death by her husband Howard H Dunlap; sister Vera Dell Archer; of Omaha, NE, and brother Bert Moran; of Nebraska.

Tessa and Vera Dell were descendants of Betsy Ross that made the first American flag. Tessa graduated from Ewing High School in Ewing, Nebraska and went on to complete her RN Degree at Nicholas Senn Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Tessa wanted to see Wyoming and moved to Douglas, Wyoming working as a nanny for a short while then moved to Casper in 1933. Tessa went on staff at the former Natrona County Memorial Hospital, now known as Wyoming Medical Center. It was there through a colleague that she was introduced to her husband to be Howard H Dunlap from Clarkston, Washington. They were married October 20,1934. Howard worked for and retired from the former Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Casper. Tessa, Howard, and Lee, lived in Panama, Canal Zone for 3 years before World War II while her husband helped build the railroad across the isthmus of Panama. They returned to the United States and their beloved Casper in 1941 and she continued nursing at Natrona County Memorial Hospital part time.

Tessa enjoyed spending her free time at her home and garden. They loved Wyoming enjoying hunting and fishing while younger. Tessa and Howard enjoyed traveling to visit their children and grandchildren joining their young military family from North Carolina, to California, Okinawa Japan, Taiwan, China, Washington DC, to Mililani, Hawaii, and on to the Tampa Bay area. Tess was very adventurous and loved life to the fullest even taking a glider ride on her 80th Birthday over Oahu, Hawaii and enjoying DisneyWorld, Epcot, and Universal Studios riding the roller coasters in her late 80’s. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by one son, Lee Charles Dunlap, his wife Jan Marie (Fancett) of Riverview, FL; Granddaughter Zachari Ann Crews of Brandon, FL; Grandson JEB Stuart Dunlap his wife Jenniper; of Corvallis; OR, 2 GreatGranddaughters Brittany Lee Crews; stationed at Norfolk, VA, and Blakelyn Marie Kuester; of Jacksonville, FL, 2 GreatGrandsons Justin Slater Jackson; and Corey Andrew Jackson; of Corvallis, OR; her niece and nephew Ellen and Scott Archer.

The family has requested that donations be made to Hospice of Casper, Meals on Wheels, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, or a Charity of your choice.

A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 21, 2017. Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 22, 2017 followed by burial at Wyoming Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services are open to the public.
