In Memory Of
Mrs. Mary Jane Bauer
1920 - 2017

Mary Jane Bauer, age 96, of Casper Wyoming passed peacefully on March 30th, 2017 at the Poplar Living Center.

Mary Jane Perrine Bauer was born November 11, 1920 to Roy and Francis Perrine in Douglas, Wyoming. She was the second youngest of 10 children. On November 29,1952 she married Raymond M Bauer of Bridgeport, Nebraska. They were married for 50 years. They have two daughters Edna Burt of Casper and Norma Hinkle of Charles Town, West Virginia.

Mary attended Natrona County High School, herded sheep as a young mother. She waited tables at the Henning and the Gladstone. Mary ran the hardware department at the Casper Commissary.

She loved to fish and spend time in her flower gardens. She also loved her birds, she watered(hot water in the winter) and fed them year around. In the summer she would sit out on the patio with coffee watching them and feeding the squirrels and blue jays peanuts. In the winter you catch her at one of the windows. She always had her book to identify the new ones that would come in handy. She was active in the women of the retirees from Amoco, she and Ray delivered meals on wheels, active in 4-H with her children and grandchildren, both her and Ray were very active members Grace Lutheran church.

Family was always important to her and she would be surrounded at holidays, birthdays, or any excuse to get together.

She loved Christmas and went all out at that time of year. She made old world Santa Clauses from scratch including the bodies, faces, hair and clothing with trimmings. These Santa's stood about two feet tall. She also liked to paint. These she did after she retired.

Everyone that knew her thought she was a very special person who lived a long life and had a whole reservoir of stories to go with it. She had a dream as a teenager to become a singer and played the guitar and banjo. She loved to sing and you could hear her sing when she was working or just happy.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Edna Burt and Norma (Pete) Hinkle. Her grandchildren Bobbie Lopez, Cliff (Jackie) Burt, Morgan (Tracy) Hinkle, and Wendy Johnson. Her great grandchildren Donald (Sarah) Lopez, Casandra Lopez, Olivia and Madeline Hinkle, Ryan and Stacie Johnson. Her great great grandchildren Martena, Elisea, Payton, and Lily Lopez. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren were a treasure to her and the light in her eye.
