Traci Nickerson passed away at Mountain View Hospital in Casper, Wyoming on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Family and friends were with her. She put up a valiant fight for several years battling Hep C and liver disease. She was a fighter her entire life and vowed to not let this get the best of her. Her one wish was to continue living on her own in her own house with her cats. She achieved her wish thanks to wonderful neighbors.
Traci was born October 26, 1961 in Muscatine, Iowa to the late C.L (Roy) and Myra (Mike) Luce. She moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1975 with her Mother where her love for horses was rewarded. She was promised a horse for her move to Loveland – she got a quarter horse. Traci also lived in Millikin and Ft. Collins.
Her love for animals was legendary having many furry family members over the years. Traci rescued many animals. She loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and actually owned one! She also loved the outdoors spending lots of time camping before her illness sidelined her. Traci had such a love for gardening which she got from her Dad. Traci cherished her friendships & loved cooking for her many friends incorporating her garden’s bounty!
Traci is survived by siblings Linda Luce Solis (Joe), Costa Rica; Marci Oates (Tim), Loveland, Colorado; and Mark Luce, Ft. Collins, Colorado and nephews Mike and Jeff Oates.
