In Memory Of
April Fay Heller
1966 - 2018

April Fay Heller’s last conscious moments on earth were spent laughing and dancing. She passed away unexpectedly from a heart complication on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Wyoming Medical Center where she was surrounded by family and friends. She had such a big heart that it exploded with love and she was called to boot-scoot in heaven.

April spent her 52 years of life serving others. She could not do enough for the tenants she managed, the disabled clients she took on, the children she cared for, or the friends and family lucky enough to know her. April’s giving nature was exemplified in her final selfless act of being an unrestricted organ and tissue donor. April was a mean cleaning machine and her home was so immaculate you could eat off her floor. Her family and friends will forever cherish all of the hand sewn clothes, toys, and other items she created with love.

April was born to Howard and JoAnn Baker on April 1, 1966 in Williston, ND. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1984 and went on to include a few cities, homes, killer recipes, small businesses, pets, and ex-husbands in her journey. She took the most pride in her children until she became a Nana. Her grandchildren quickly became the light of her life and she spoiled them to no end despite what their parents had to say.

A celebration of April’s life will take place on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM. The service will be held at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church and officiated by Father Philip Vaske. Attendees are asked to wear April’s favorite color, purple, and prepare funny stories to share. April was always smiling and her family would like to honor her memory with laughter.

April is survived by her mother, JoAnn Baker; brothers, Dave and Jeremiah Baker; children, Damian (Chelse DePaolo-Lara) and Ryta (Chris Mahan) Lara; grandchildren, Nia, Channing, and Ava Mahan, and Auri and Bria Lara; Nephew, Tylar; numerous step, half, and extended family members; and an endless list of friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Emery and Edna Baker and William and LuCille DuVall; father, Howard Baker; and son, Sissario Lara.

Donations can be made to Independent Opportunities (111 South Jefferson Suite 100 Casper, WY 82601) in honor of April’s brother, Jeremiah, and all the clients she worked with over the years. Dancing in memory of April is also encouraged.
