Phyllis M. (Peters) Douglass, age 92, passed away June 23, 2018 at Central Wyoming Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born on May 27, 1926 in Bellwood, NE, to Clarence and Margaret (Meysenburg) Peters. After graduation, Phyllis moved to Omaha, NE where she worked as a secretary for Union Pacific Railroad. While in Omaha, she met and later married Bill Douglass Sr. on June 17, 1946. To this union Bill Jr. and Debbie were born. The family relocated to Rawlins, WY in 1951 where Phyllis was employed by Cream O’ Weber and First National Bank. Phyllis was an active member of the Altar Society.

The family moved to Casper, WY in 1971 and purchased the Red Barn (Peaches) drive-in. After selling the restaurant they moved to Las Vegas, NV and built a Super 8 Motel in 1985. Phyllis enjoyed weeding her garden, crossword puzzles, and most of all her family. When it came to her children and grandchildren, she was always ready to help with anything! The family moved back to Casper in 2008.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Bill Jr. (Laurie Lye) of Casper and daughter, Debbie (Bruce) Hoffman of McCook, NE. Grandchildren Stephanie Sydow of McCook, NE., Brandon Hoffman (Rocki Garcia) of Denver, CO., Christopher (Nicole) Hoffman of Casper. Great grandchildren Ashley and Amber Sydow of McCook, Aubrey Sydow of Manhattan, KS., Aric Sydow of Kearney, NE and Matthew Hoffman of McCook. Nora and Corben Hoffman of Casper. Great-great grandchildren Eden Knowles and Karsyn Sydow of McCook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brother Paul and sister Honora.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony Catholic School or Central Wyoming Hospice.

Funeral Mass for Phyllis will be held on Monday, July 9th at 10:00 AM with burial following at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery. Following burial,
a reception will be held at the church basement.
