Robert R. McKay passed away unexpectedly on Sunday August 2, 2015 at Wyoming Medical Center. He was born on August 7, 1952 in Erie, PA to William R. and Ruth McKay, longtime residents of Casper, WY. He attended Casper schools and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a teaching degree.

He taught at Alcova and Pineview Elementary Schools for over 25 years. At Pineview School, he touched the lives of many students and was an inspiration to his fellow staff members and friends throughout the years. He was witty and clever, loved playing guitar for his students, and playing a good practical joke on his fellow teachers.

He is survived by his true love, Nancy Debets, who made his last years so full of joy and love; his son, Josh (Jackie) McKay; granddaughter, Ainsley McKay; twin sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Allison and Marolyn (Jim) Thomas; niece, Lisa Bradley; all of Casper; and nephew, Bill Thomas and family of Mission Hills, KS; and many other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A private celebration of life will be held with family at the family cabin on Casper Mountain this week.
