Marie P. Hopkins, age 92, of Casper, peacefully passed away October 2, 2015. She was born May 6, 1923 in Lanark, Idaho, the daughter of Walter and Orbie (Findlay) Poulsen. She was the matriarch of her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During her 55 years in Casper she was an active community volunteer and a devoted member of her church. She served two church service missions in Texas and Ohio. Compassionate service and caring for others were her passions. Marie was a lifelong learner, engaged in family history and genealogy, enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Marie is survived by her children; John P. (Penny) Hopkins, Patrick L. (Pamela) Hopkins, Rodney J. (Susan) Hopkins, Franklin D. (Tammi) Hopkins, Steven W. (Peggi) Hopkins and Susan H. (Robert) Steed, grandchildren; Paul Hopkins, Mathew (Nicole) Crabb, Joshua Crabb, Leah (Jared) Call, Larkin (Cody) Reeves, David (Amy) Hopkins, Nicole (Kyle) Athey, Stephanie (Rhett) Young, Hilary (Tyler) Barrett, Robert (Sara) Steed, Ashley (Scott) Larson, Alex (Holly) Steed and Derek Steed, great-grandchildren; Ilee Crabb, Adam Call, Matthew Call, Daniel Call, Hannah Call, Rennie Reeves, Ollie Hopkins, Drew Hopkins, Carter Athey, Madison Athey, Kayla Athey, Hailey Athey, Paisley Young, Parker Young, Hudson Barrett, Cooper Barrett, Aaron Steed, Madeline Steed, Devon Larson, Heidi Larson, Brianna Steed, Gavin Steed, sisters Helen (Dean) Cook and Faye Floyd and brother James Poulsen. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, brother Steve Poulsen and sisters Gwen Veech, Nathel Lau and Joyce Transtrom.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 11:30 am - 12:45 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2627 East 7th Street. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 1:00 pm. with burial following at Highland Cemetery.
