1927 - 2016

James Louis (Jim) Dike Sr. passed away at Central Wyoming Hospice on February 12, 2016. Jim was born in Nebraska on July 11th, 1927 to Ethel and William Dike, the youngest of 4 children. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and served in WWII. After an honorable discharge he moved to Rawlins, WY where he met the love of his life, Carol Jean Mangnall, at a barn dance. Shortly after their wedding in Scottsbluff, NE they made their home in Casper, living at the same address for 62 years.

Jim worked at Amoco Refinery for 34 years as an oil analyst. Jim enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor. He coached his sons along with many others in youth baseball for 25 years. He was also an avid bowler. He also took pride in growing flowers and plants in his greenhouse year around.

Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, 2 sons John (Casper), Micheal (Auburn, WA) and 1 daughter Joan (Ray) Demke (Salt Lake City, UT) and sister Beula. He was preceded in death by a son James Jr, parents Ethel and William Dike and 2 brothers Bill and Richard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Wyoming Hospice.

A Memorial Service will be held for Jim at 1:00pm, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel with military honors to follow.
