Maria Settell (Teague), age 90, of Casper, passed away March 2, 2016 at Meadow Winds Assisted Living. Maria was born October 12, 1925 in Berlin, Germany to Paul and Margarit Plagwitz. Maria met the first love of her life, Archie, during World War II in 1946 in Germany. After they decided to get married, Archie brought Maria to Casper where she became the first War Bride of Casper. Maria had two beautiful children and prided herself at being a homemaker. In addition to being a homemaker, she volunteered at the Casper Humane Society and created beautiful stain glass for which she won numerous awards. After many years of being a widow, she met the second love of her life, Clyde Teague. They were married for 20 years and spent the majority of their years together in Sun City, AZ.

In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her two loving husbands, two sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Hunter of Casper; son, Ron (Teresa) Settell of Henderson,TX; grandchildren, Dodie (Troy) Eskew of Casper; Bill (Jennifer) Hunter of Casper; Valerie (Tracy) Brown of Lufkin, TX; Cheri Settell of San Antonio, TX; Arthur (Stacy) Hansen of Gillette; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2:00 pm, July 21, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel. Donations in Maria's memory may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or Casper Humane Society.
