JoAnn E. Moreland, 84 of Casper, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley Health Care Center in Casper. She was born December 26, 1931 in Greeley, Colorado to Ed and Anna Smith. JoAnn received her R.N. from Mercy Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 1952. She practiced as a nurse until her retirement in 1984. She married her husband, H. Boyd Moreland on December 28, 1953.

For Boyd's job the family spent numerous years in Saudi Arabia where she also worked as a nurse. In 1967 the family relocated to Casper, where they eventually settled and called home. JoAnn and Boyd loved to travel and have traveled the world, they were true adventurers together.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Boyd; children, Connie (Gene) Wallace of Casper, WY and H.B. (Nancy) Moreland of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, Mitchell Moreland, a student at Oklahoma State University, Daniel Moreland a Junior at Kingwood High School, and Katherine Moreland a Freshman at Kingwood High School; sisters, Shirley Brotherton of Littleton, CO and Dolores Marich of Greeley, CO; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery Chapel in Evansville, WY. Interment will follow at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Diabetes Association in JoAnn's name.
