92, of Casper, WY, passed away January 13, 2015.
William was born May 10, 1922 to Charles and Dora (Witte) Rosensweig in Spring Valley, Minnesota. He was baptized into the Christian faith on May 28th, 1922 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. He was the last of eight children.
When their mother passed William was just a few months old. William and all his siblings were taken in by his 40 year old bachelor uncle, Nick Tiederman.
William joined the Army in October of 1942. He served in the South Pacific during WWII until his discharge on January 3, 1946.
He met and married Evelyn Gunsallus on February 5, 1946, at St. Olof Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children. They began their life together traveling through Texas and New Mexico working on numerous masonry projects. They heard about work in Wyoming and in the winter of 1949 they stumbled into Casper, Wyoming and made this their home.
He always said on his numerous trips back to Minnesota, after being there a short time, that the call of the wild was calling him home to Wyoming.
After working for others he joined forces with two other men to form their own business MOR Masonry. They completed many projects in Casper and around the entire state.
If you asked him how he was he answered either “uncommonly well” or “it’s a comin’ a gute.”
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Uncle Nick, four sisters Louise, Elsie, Clara, and Amanda and three brothers Fred, Ed and Bob. He is survived by: his wife of almost 69 years Evelyn, son Dennis (Joan) of Casper, daughter Deborah (Don Wisland) Cook of Casper, and son Edwin (Julie) of Boise, Idaho, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
We thank God for being blessed for so many years with his presence.
The Memorial Service, followed by Military Honors, will be held at Our Saviours Lutheran Church at 318 East 6th St in Casper, Wyoming on Tuesday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Private Inurnment will be at Oregon Trail State Veterans' Cemetery.
Reception with the family will immediately follow the Service in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
