Charles E. Wimmer, 86 of Casper, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Central Wyoming Hospice. He was born June 22, 1928 to James and Lula Wimmer in Bayard, NE. After high school Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for four years as an Electrician Mate during the Korean Conflict. After the service he attended Scottsbluff Community College for two years. Chuck then met and married Nadia Greenly. Together they raised four children, Patrick, Joyce, Lou Ann, and Steven. Chuck started working for Marathon Oil Company in 1955 and continued until his retirement. He moved to Casper, WY in 1964 and loved the Cowboy State. His passions in life were his family, hunting and fishing, camping, backpacking, the Wyoming Cowboys and the Denver Broncos. He particularly loved gardening, especially raising hot chili peppers and tomatoes.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nadia; brother, Delbert; and sister, Evelyn. Chuck is survived by his four children, Pat (Marian) Wimmer of San Jose, CA; Joyce (Dan) Butcher of Jackson Hole, WY; Lou Ann (Fred) Parks of Casper, WY; Steve (Dawn) Wimmer of Alma, MI; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 30, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Casper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Central Wyoming Hospice.
