I worked with Leslie on a number of projects, including the first Casper Business Expo. She was warm, generous and had a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Dear Family,
Leslie was my “first friend”, and I have never forgotten her. Neighbors on North Place in 1965, we were thick as thieves, and played for hours with eachother and our animals. I still remember our escapades, once being grounded for getting back at a neighbor boy by filling his family’s sprinkler system with rabbit food! If we had continued to live near eachother, I can only imagine the fun we would have had. I also remember Leslie’s mother, Kaye, so fondly.
I am not surprised at the beautiful, talented woman Leslie became, but I am truly saddened by her too-early passing. My condolences to all her family at this difficult time.
~ Nancy Bick - January 22, 2018
One of the best in our class '77, super class act - we all loved you Leslie!
~ Wade Sant - January 21, 2018
I met Leslie in the late 1990's when I attended my first Dog obedience class with my Golden, Molly. Leslie encouraged me to enter my first trial and had been with me ever since. She and I traveled together to many agility trials, through blizzards, flat tires, frozen hotel doors. She encouraged me in my first show ring with my Gordon Setters. Leslie came and sat with me when my heart dog passed away. She was a good friend and I will miss her immensely. I am so glad she came to a party at our house a few days before Christmas. I got one last hug from Leslie. I will miss you, old friend.
~ Susan Nelson - January 15, 2018
I remember when Leslie first started working for Pacific Power. She & I often enjoyed going to Benhams for oysters Rockefeller on Friday after work.
Mark you have my deepest condolences during this most difficult time.

Leslie has "Paid Forward" good acts for as long as she has been under my radar. She was a friend, a role model, to live life by. She was a steward for not only the Dog Fancy, but for humanity and how we should treat one another. I had just started to form a friendship and to truly understand how unique and special Leslie was. I have a gut wrenching ache with the hole she left, but am feeling so very blessed to have meet such a wonderful being. Thank you Mark for sharing Leslie with everyone. I'm so sincerely sorry for your loss......
~ Barbara Thornberry - January 13, 2018
What a wonderful "gal". Leslie was a warm, welcoming lady, so admired and loved. She will be missed by so many.
When I lost dogs, my sweet Goldens, Leslie always sent a sweet note and gave me support. Thank you sweet friend.

I want to wish the family my deepest condolences. I met Leslie in Scottsbluff at the dog show which was my first event with my Labrador . Leslie had very kind words of encouragement for me. I have since watched her and her Goldens in the ring what class to watch. She will be missed.
I am thankful to have met Leslie those few years ago.
~ Linda Alexander - January 10, 2018
Leslie was an inspiration and mentor. She laughed, shared wisdom and listened even when only a brief time was shared. She is missed. Love you, Leslie.

How does one begin to express their sympathies for such a special person? I find that difficult at best. What I do know is how my life feels richer and happier for having known Leslie. Memories of never ending laughter, great Wyoming adventures and our shared love of dogs fill my heart each time I think of Leslie’s passing; just as Leslie would want it.
My deepest sympathies to the family. May you also find comfort in the memories you hold.

I worked at Pacific Power for 20 some years and always enjoyed Leslie. She never knew a stranger and treated everyone like she had known them forever. She brightened every room when she entered. She will be missed. Prayers for your family as you carry on without her. May God ease the pain in the coming days. Dee Smith

I am still in shock. Such a kind human being. I loved listening to her about agility training shows and her beloved goldens. What a loss... I am sure her fur babies were there waiting for her at the rainbow bridge. My heartfelt condolences to Leslie's family. Love and miss you my friend
~ Irene Brown - January 9, 2018
Mark, I knew Leslie through Goldens and wanted you to know she will be missed! You all are in our thoughts and prayers!
~ Darleen Harmon - January 9, 2018
Oh Leslie, I am so sad that you left us so prematurely. I learned from you and saw what an example of trustee leadership you were while we were in the inaugural class of Leadership Wyoming. Wyoming now has a void that will be long in being filled. I give my condolences to her family and many friends.
~ Chuck Bohlen - January 9, 2018
As a former photojournalist at the Casper Star-Tribune, Leslie's and mine's paths would cross on quite a few occasions in the '90's. She was always very courteous and helpful during all of my many requests. When I learned this morning of her passing, I wanted to write to express my condolences, and to say that her professionalism will be missed.
~ Rick Hannon - January 9, 2018
A wonderful lady is the only description for Leslie. May God bless her.

My deepest sympathies for Leslie’s husband Mark and family and close friends. You probably don’t know me, I’m just another golden retriever person touched by Leslie’s friendship and kindness. She was a wonderful woman. But you already know that. My thoughts are with you.

I am so sad and heartsick to hear of Leslie's untimely passing. I met her at the 2013 Western regional, and we stayed in touch via Facebook. Leslie was the first to send me a card when my Sunny Bear passed away, and I will forever cherish it and the memory of the kind, caring woman who sent it. I grieve with so many and send sincere condolences to Mark and her family.

I know that I enjoyed working with Leslie through the years on addressing contentious customer issues with utility regulations. She was always so positive and enjoyable to work with. Her sudden passing is so unexpected. Somehow I wish there could have been a way to say goodbye. I suppose she knows that and is good with that too. It is us that remain behind that need comfort. My condolences to her family who must feel her loss so much more acutely. May you find a sweet measure of peace in your time of loss.
Sincerely,
Rob Stewart

I am as devastated as so many who loved Leslie are. We spent countless hours on the phone talking dogs long before we actually met, shared a room at the National early in her career and continued a most joyful friendship for so many many years. Run free My beautiful friend. We will all meet again one day. My thought and prayers for Mark and family during this painful journey.

I have so many fond memories of Leslie. She was a friend to me beginning in 6th Grade. Our love of horses is what bonded our friendship. She and I would spend many hours together riding out of Billings towards Molt and following the rails of the railroad track that lead to a tunnel under the Rimrocks. We were in 4H together and spent many a weekend at horse shows.
In middle school we ran with the same group of friends who notoriously streaked down Zimmerman Trail while at a sleepover. While in High School Leslie drove this old white station wagon she had named "The Duck Mobile". I will never forget one night when we were out with our friends. I was driving my car and she was in the Duck Mobile. We were up to no good as both cars had a great supply of toilet paper used to decorate the homes of anyone we wanted to target. I can still see the Duck Mobile flying down a main city street with streamers of toilet paper flying out the window. We were all laughing at the sight until a policeman appeared out of nowhere and pulled Leslie over. He gave Leslie a warning and told her if he had any complaints she would be the one he called. Pretty much put an end to our fun that evening. I will carry Leslie in my heart forever. We had a lot of fun. Sending you my sincere condolences. Peace, Janna Jurovich

My Deepest Sympathy to Leslie's family. I remember this beautiful lady working at the University of Wyoming. She always greeted me with a smile and always had time to talk awhile. Her beautiful blue eyes always were smiling. I know she will be missed. She has joined the Angels in Heaven way too soon. May she Rest in Peace.

I first met Leslie around 1991 as a new board member of Energy Share of Wyoming. Leslie was one of the founding members of the organization and welcomed me whole heartedly. This was my first experience as a board member and I learned a great deal from her. When I think of Leslie, I will remember her laugh and her ability to light up a room when she walked in. I loved hearing her stories about the dogs she loved so much and Mark. We had a chance to catch up last summer when she was in Gillette for the WAM convention and I'm thankful for that memory. She was a force of nature, a wonderful friend and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to Mark and the family.

My precious friend Leslie, we first were introduced at Pacific Power where I worked as a customer service representative. The very first thing I saw were those beautiful eyes and wonderful smile and I knew you were an amazing lady. When we lost our first son in 1988, you called and sent a beautiful card, then in 1995, we lost our remaining son and once again, you called and sent another beautiful card. The same when I lost my husband, and then my precious little schnauzer girl. You were so kind to me, because not only do you have compassion and love for everyone you meet, you have a loving, tender heart and spirit. You and Mark were total soul mates, we could see the sparkle and love in your eyes when you talked about him. It has been a total honor to know you sweet girl, and I am convinced that you are in charge of all of the dogs in Heaven, loving them, playing with them and running through meadows of beautiful flowers and clear blue brooks, with those beautiful eyes sparkling and that wonderful smile full of joy. I love you, I will miss you, and my prayers are with your precious husband, brother and step daughters. Heaven is so much sweeter with our Leslie being there. Until then my friend, Clancy Galovich.

I met Leslie for the first time at the Colorado Nationals. From there it was like we had known each other for years. I always learned something when speaking with her. Such a great lady. Will miss you Leslie. Prayers to Mark and family.

Leslie was an incredible woman. Her love for her husband and family, her dogs, and the community where she lived and chose to generously donate her valuable service was so evident to everyone who met or worked with her. It was an honor to share even a small part of her too short life. She will be remembered and sorely missed.

Mark, family and friends,
We are still sad beyond belief at the loss of Leslie. Her light still shines bright no matter where she is. She made a positive impact in so many areas of this world and her smile could light up a room in an instant. David and I have known her almost as long as we've been in Colorado - and it's still hard to believe that we won't see her at the next dog show, or the one after that... she will be missed, not just by us, but by everyone she touched. God speed Leslie - I hope you were met in heaven by a pack of gorgeous goldens and one very special welshie... till we meet again.
~ Sharon & David Sherwood - January 8, 2018
So young and full of life. Please accept my sincere condolences. Take care of your selves and all the fur babies during this difficult time...Leslie would have wanted that ??

Rest in peace, Leslie Blythe. You will be greatly missed by all in the Golden Retriever world as I knew you from. You were a remarkable woman - strong, energetic, full of wisdom, loving, and caring. Thank you for all the wonderful advice you gave me when I first joined the Mile High Golden Retriever Club ten years ago and when I became the club's obedience chair member. Also, thank you for the inspiration you gave me to take photos at our local fun matches and post them on our Facebook page which you created for us. I hope you are playing and cuddling with Golden Retrievers in Heaven right now.

Leslie and I became friends a couple of years ago through our love for our Goldens. I had a matter I needed assistance with at the Club and National Level and Leslie was happy to jump right in and help me as I had never encountered a situation like this before. We had just spoken on 12/29/17 and then again on 12/31/17. We were making plans for her trip to Phoenix and we were both excited to finally spend some time together. She was excited to get to see her Dad and be our Sweeps Judge at our upcoming show. I will miss her greatly. She was a great comfort to me when my Father passed away on 9/24/16. I will miss our talks, I can still hear her voice in my head and I can picture her bright and shining smile.
I hope that Mark and the family can find peace and comfort in knowing how many people loved her and the legacy she left. My deepest condolences to them.

My sincere condolences to Mark and all of Leslie's family, friends and her beloved Goldens who will miss her so greatly. Leslie was a wonderful, smart, witty and giving woman whom I first met when I built my first home here in Casper in 1997 as we were working with Pacific Power. From there I can remember many long coversations over the last several years talking about dogs and breeding and our ethics and plans as she became a mentor to me with respect to my own breeding program. She and I had just talked over the last couple of weeks on several occasions about her coming to my rally class and getting her dogs started in Rally competition and I was SO looking forward to that. I'm just heartbroken and in shock that this could have happened so suddenly. Her smile, love, dedication and kind words will be missed.

A friend and a former board member pal of the GRCA recently passed due to complications from the flu from what I understand. I am having a difficult time wrapping my head around as how such a vibrant women could leave this earth this way. Leslie never failed to call when we lost a dog offering comfort to me. While on the board together we spent many evenings for six years at the National enjoying wine and laughs and conversation with our fellow board members. She became a true friend. She was a champion of the Golden breed, a tireless worker and just a damn fine person. I will mess her.
~ Dana Oaks - January 8, 2018
We offer to you our sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Our first meeting was at the 2008 national in Rhode Island. We have continued numero chats regarding dogs, and my travels west, where I spent a lot of my childhood. Along with Leslie, my mothers family resided in Montana, and Wyoming. We chatted of that and of course our beautiful dogs. She was always the first to reach out with comfort for any losses we may have had. First with a message then with a handwritten message. That meant so much. She was amazing. I have never met such a selfless, sweet soul, until Leslie.
When I lost my mother she messaged right away, and a letter knowing I may not be ready for a phone call. She was that person. Our world was better and brighter with her in it. Her star is shining above us and she will keep our goldens safe above. Thank you to her family for sharing her with us on her lifelong journey.

Leslie was a gracious, generous and special person. While I did not know her personally, we were Facebook friends through our mutual golden retriever interests. Leslie remains one of the most respected people in the golden retriever community. While it is a very competitive sport, Leslie was always there to help encourage, inspire and mentor. While she did love to compete with her dogs, I always appreciated the joy in which she celebrated other people's dog show wins ahead of her own wins. A very gracious and elegant soul. When I reached out to her two years ago, she did not hesitate to give me great advice and went out of her way to help me find a great home for one of my Lennon-sired puppies. Because of that kindness, I made some great friendships that I will cherish forever. Leslie had something to do with that and I will always be grateful. My heart goes out to Mark, her loving husband and the rest of her family. I know that she was greeted by Len and all her other beloved dogs and family. Many of us are still trying to wrap our heads around her unexpected and tragic loss. Leslie, may your death inspire all of us to treasure each day, since we never know when it will be our last. God bless you and keep you, Leslie.

Dear Mark and family,
I know that Leslie is looking down on all of you as she pets all the Goldens who met her at The Bridge. I can hear whisper their names as she is kissed over and over again. Trust me when I say that she will be there along with all the dogs to greet you when the time comes and you are reunited never to be parted again. Until that time she will remain in all of our hearts but especially in yours. Cherish your memories and rejoice in the life you shared. God Bless you all, Pat Herschman
