Peter Max "Pete" Silva
1940 - 2018

Peter “Pete” Max Silva Jr. passed away March 26, 2018 at his home in Casper, Wyoming. Pete was born October 20, 1940 in Billings, Montana to Mary and Peter Max Silva Sr. He grew up in Laurel, Montana and graduated from Laurel High School. At the age of 23, Pete joined the United States Marine Corp and served during the Vietnam Era from January 1963 to January 1967 and was a combat veteran.

Following an honorable discharge from the Marines, he made his home in Laurel. Pete married Patricia (Patty) Stringari on December 2, 1967. Pete and Patty had 2 sons and lived in Laurel until moving to Casper, Wyoming in 1979.

Pete had many jobs he enjoyed but the one he favored most was driving truck. For many years he was a vendor with a route from Casper to Miles City, Montana which provided him the opportunity to share stories with family and many interesting people. Pete loved fishing, talking about fishing, sharing stories with others and reading.

Pete is survived by his wife of 50 year Patty Silva, two sons, Peter “Craig” Silva of Casper, John Todd Silva (Velicity) of Powell, a sister Char Mackly (Ken) of Billings, Montana and grandchildren McKena & Jacob Silva of Casper, Braden, Merced, Avianna Silva of Powell, an anticipated grandchild in July 2018 as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pete was man with a firm handshake, direct eye contact and quick wit. He will be remembered by his family, friends and Marine buddies as a lifetime Marine whose big presence was loving, generous, helpful, humorous and dependable.
