In Memory Of
Sharon Kay Ostrom Miller
1953 - 2018

Sharon Kay Ostrom Miller, our beloved Mother, Mimi, Daughter, Sister and Friend, passed away peacefully in her home on May 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 64 years young.

Sharon was born on October 5, 1953 in Red Lodge, Montana to George Ostrom, Jr. and Jeanene Ostrom (Schmitz). She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1973 before marrying James M. Miller of Casper. They had two beautiful children, Lorrie and Brian and later divorced. In 1992 she obtained her CNA License and enjoyed many years caring for her patients at Sheridan Manor Nursing Home. Sharon loved art, reading, music, fishing, frogs and of course chocolate. She got her artistic talent from her late grandfather George N. Ostrom, Sr., the original creator of the first known Bucking Horse and Rider Logo that is still used today by the Wyoming National Guard. Most of all Sharon loved her family and her love and kindness will forever continue to influence their lives.

Sharon is survived by her children, Lorraine (Tony Zettlemoyer) Salo and Brian Miller of Casper; her parents, George (Jo) Ostrom, Jr. of Sheridan and Jeanene (Bill) Schmitz of Bozeman, Montana; her siblings, Marilou (Joe) Ficken of Casper, Billy (Lynda) Ostrom of Buffalo, and Terri Ostrom of Casper; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew (Courtney) Salo of Casper and Keyana Miller of Visalia, California. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, John Ostrom and both sets of grandparents, George and Gladys Ostrom, Sr., and Keith and Gertrude Moss; numerous aunts and uncles; and her three best girlfriends, Patti Crimm, Bev Bryan both of Casper and Claudia Gifford of Sheridan.

At her request a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Casper Humane Society, 849 East E. Street, Casper, WY 82601, in Sharon's name.

All of our family wishes to extend our gratitude to her doctors, surgeons and caregivers from Rocky Mountain Oncology, UC Health of Denver Colorado and Central Wyoming Hospice for the kindness and love they shared with her.
