Alfred K. Orr Jr. passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Central Wyoming Hospice surrounded by his family. Alfred was born on November 27, 1928 in Winchester, TN to Alfred K. Orr Sr. and Elizabeth Campbell.
He obtained his Bachelors of Mathematics from the University of the South, Phi Beta Kappa. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later went on to earn his Masters of Geophysics from the California Institute of Technology. Alfred was a geophysicist with Marathon Oil Company for over 30 years. He established their computer center in Casper in the late 1970's.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years Kathy, daughters Lese and Jean, son Julian, along with 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
Memorials in his name may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or to Wyoming Dementia Care.
