Michael D. "Mike" Olson
1941 - 2018

Michael “Mike” D. Olson died peacefully in his home on 5 November 2018 in Casper, WY at the age of 77.

Mike is survived by his wife, Suzanne; children, Mike (Amber), Kirsten (Kasey), and Reid; grandchildren India, Soren, Ella, and Aria, all of Casper, WY. He is also survived by his brother, Richard “Dick” Olson of Black River Falls, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Gladys Olson, and his sisters, Mary and Carol.

Mike was born in 1941 in Black River Falls, WI and grew up on a dairy farm. He spent his life in service to his country, first in the Marine Corps, then as a game warden in WI where he met and married his beloved wife, Sue, in 1967. Mike went on to a career with the US government, which allowed him to travel the world with his family, one of his greatest passions. His engaging, spirited personality and great sense of humor made him easy to connect with, and his interest in and love of people and their stories marked him as a true and loyal friend. He will be profoundly missed by those who knew him.
