Elizabeth (Liz) Louise Hageman Brecheisen went to be with our Lord on November 21, 2018 at Wyoming Medical Center, Casper, WY, after spending three years at Shepherd of the Valley Health Care Community.

Liz was born in Las Animas, CO, to William Van Hageman, Sr. and Irene Wibbeler Hageman on March 19, 1943. The family moved to Rocky Ford, CO, soon after her birth and she always called Rocky Ford her home.

Liz graduated from Sterling College in Sterling, KS, with her teaching degree in 1966. She started her teaching career in Midwest, WY, and then moved to Casper where she taught third grade at Fairdale, South Ridge, and Paradise Valley grade schools. Known to her students as Miss Hageman she never forgot a face and cherished visiting with former students when she would see them about town.

Liz married Dale Brecheisen on August 13, 1994 and inherited two children and six grandchildren. She was delighted when the seventh grandchild was born and became “her own.” Together they took many memorable trips including Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland, the UK, Nova Scotia, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. They spent 16 winters in Pharr, TX, where they met so many wonderful “Winter Texans” they grew to call them family. Each year they played Mr. & Mrs. Santa in McAllen and Mercedes, TX, and loved visiting Mexico and South Padre Island. Liz regularly she volunteered in local schools in Texas reading to children.

She was active in many organizations in Casper and loved getting together with her fellow retired school teachers. She lived her life as a faithful Presbyterian and most recently was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Casper.

Anyone who truly knew Liz would know her love of dolls. Over the years she hand made over 100 porcelain dolls and collected designer dolls when she stopped making them. Her dolls had special names and were treated like her own children.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, brother William Van Hageman, Jr., his wife Marvelle Hageman, and brother Richard Dean Hageman, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Liz is survived by her husband, Dale Brecheisen, step-children Douglas Brecheisen (Theresa) of Encampment, WY, Deanna Pickering of Casper, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, nephews, Daryl Hageman (Patty) of Lakewood, CO, David Hageman of Denver, CO, Randy Hageman (Molly) of Aurora, CO, and niece, Ronda Hackbarth (Mike) of North Platte, NE, along with numerous cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held November 29, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 710 E 2nd St., Casper, WY, from 6pm to 8pm. Services will be held 1:00 PM, November 30, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 4600 S Poplar St., Casper, WY. Inurnment will follow on December 3, 2018 at Las Animas Bent County Cemetery in Las Animas, CO, in the family plot.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church or Sterling College, 125 W. Cooper, Sterling, KS 67579.
