Rest in peace, Brenda. Thanks for being a friend.
~ Hal Hutchinson - December 11, 2018
Rest in Peace Brenda from all the pain you have endured for the last few years! Brenda, you were a fun and delightful friend I so enjoyed our lunches now and then! You always came to our meetings and you were always interested in finding out more about this condition we both share. But, I think your favorite time was when we had the annual Alpha-1 picnic with the group from Cheyenne and Fort Collins at Natural Bridge in the summer seemed to you a common bond and kindred spirit with each other sharing our same stories about Alpha-1. God wrap his loving arms around you and take all the pain and suffering away my friend xoxoxoxo Sue Blevins (Alpha-1 Support Group Leader)

Dear Brenda,
It seems like just yesterday when we became room mates the fall of 1972 in Laramie due to my Great Aunt in Huron, SD being your 4-H leader. She told me you were a sweet young lady who needed a place to co-rent which began our long friendship.
A few years later I learned to keep my suitcase closed when I stayed at your place after experiencing a couple chewed toothbrushes, etc from your doggies rummaging through my stuff! Oh you loved your critters and took such good care of all of them!
I will miss your kind, generous heart, wonderful smile and delightful laugh. Our last conversation was on your 66th birthday, 11/12/18. I prayed that you would get better and some day be able to return to your home you so enjoyed. You have gone home to a peaceful place with God. Thank you for our friendship. I will miss visiting you in Casper and our phone conversations! Much Love, Deb Martin, Lander, WY

Aw Beautiful Brenda, how saddened I am to hear of your passing. I am so Blessed to have met you so many years at Target and then at Halliburton and the wonderful Verizon rep you became. You were this very beautiful, classy lady and just so very sweet. I am sorry we lost touch but was so happy and so surprised when you became my mom's roommate at Life Care. So wonderful to be able to connect one more time before you left us. My mom left us to go be with Jesus on Nov 21st and I know that she waited for you, and took your hand as you both were welcomed into God's Kingdom. Brenda, rest well and know that I will see you again one day my friend, and hey I might even have a Elks tooth ring on that I would give you. Love and miss you ...

Brenda and I met some 30 yrs., ago through our mutual love of animals, the arts, and Native American History.
We had many good times "smelling the roses" as we took to the highways of Wyoming to explore Cody, Meeteetse,
and various other places. One of our favorite trips in "the caddy" was the Plains Indian Powwow in Cody in June over the coarse of several summers.
I will miss her sweet smile, her generous spirit, and her zest for life. So many memories in so little time.
Friends forever,
Margie

A thoughtful, kind neighbor, Brenda will always hold a special place in our hearts. Of special note is the fact that, when walking our now-departed little dog and when Brenda would be working in her garden, she always had a treat for her furry neighbor. We will miss those small moments; we were blessed to know Brenda.

I was Brenda’s hairdresser for over 20 years she loved to eat our Cajun cooking. Brenda had thanksgiving dinner with us last thanksgiving and we really missed her this year just wasn’t the same for us. Every weekend we cooked something we would take Brenda a plate and she’d always text with how much she loved our cooking. Sometimes she would even tell me when it was a little to spicy for her. She loved her dogs we always had fun talking about our pets. I truly miss her everyday. Branda wasn’t just a client she was my friend. We miss her dearly.

I met Brenda in the Summer of 1971, we both played in the American Youth Symphony of Winds and toured 11 countries in Europe. We traveled low class--either via bus, train, or on a Greek cruise ship for 4 weeks. We never knew each other before that Summer, but we only lived an hour apart then. While on the symphony tour, we were cabin mates with 2 other young ladies in a 6 ft. x 10 ft. cabin in the lowest level of the ship for passengers. We had 2 sets of bunk beds, lots of stuff, our instruments , etc. in this little space-imagine 4 teenage to 21 year old ladies in a room this size for 10 days!! Brenda and I found the Greek (licorice/anise flavored) liquor OUZO to our liking- along with sneaking off for a smoke.
Brenda was a superb oboe, piano and organ player. She was a weaver, Master Gardener, lover of dogs and cats ( although she was highly allergic to cats she still had one or 2 plus her beloved dogs for many years). She was always petite in stature, with a nice smile , a warm welcome and a heart full of love. As an only child she made sure her parents were always well taken care of. We kept in contact for all these 47+ years, even up to 3 days before her passing . We would communicate via letters, greeting cards ( we were 364 days different in age) phone calls, text messaging ( even though neither of us liked to text). She didn't like cell phones for her own personal use, but yet was in the cell phone business for many years!! We didn't meet up often enough--maybe once every 2-3 years and we always went out to EAT, we both loved food. I think one of Brenda's favorite places was called ? Shirley's, a diner type place with " at home" cooking in Casper. I just found out from a friend of Brenda's , that Brenda did not like to cook , nor did much of it. Even though we were, since the Fall of 1971 a 9 hour drive apart and mountain ranges in-between--it seemed like we were next door. Brenda had beautiful penmanship and she did love her large SUV's.
God Bless Brenda and all the memories we have of and with her. Doreen

Will be truly missed. Most fun I ever had making a living was working for Brenda “Pookie” establishing the US West Cellular, and later Verizon network in Central and eastern Wyo. God bless my friend.
