In Memory Of
Esther Louise Fender
1930 - 2019

Esther Louise Fender, 88, of Casper passed away March 14, 2019 at Kloefkorn Hospice. Esther was born Dec. 12, 1930 to George Walter Wisdom and Esther Louise Boyd Wisdom.

Esther graduated from Littleton High School in 1948. She lived with her grandmother Boyd in Englewood during grade school, returning to her parents on the Ken Caryl Ranch to finish school.

Esther was an accomplished horsewoman assisting her father on the Ranch. She met her future husband Ernest Fender at a community dance in the canyon hall and after a "Black Jelly Bean" escapade, they married 10-10-49. Their "Huntymoon" was spent with male in-laws hunting elk. Esther was allowed to hold HER horses tail to be pulled up the mountain. The "Huntymoon" cured her of big game hunting forever. She did get 1 cottontail to contribute when family hunted small game years later.

Esther was very active in the Presbyterian Church serving in the choir and as a Deacon. She was the "Queen Bee" of the Busy Bee's at Winter Memorial Church. She loved bowling and playing/coaching women's softball. She was a life member in the VFW Aux. and State Commander of the DAV. She and Ernest volunteered with both Sheridan and Cheyenne VA's. They donated hundreds of pies for the "Pie and Plant Sale".

Esther was lovingly known as "Hurricane Esther" by her family. She was also known as "lead foot" when driving her numerous Cadis. Her family, especially the Grandchildren were her life.

Esther is survived by Daughter, Cheryl Ackerley of Cheyenne, Sons Norman (Janis) of Wright and Edwin (Samantha) of Casper; Grandchildren; Jim Muir, Angela (Jim) Berry, Judi Ackerley, Michael Fender, Teresa Fender, Katherine (Blaine) McMurtrey, Moriah Flores, Loren Fender, Andrew Wilson, Great Grandchildren; Bridger Berry, Chance Ackerley, Kegan Berry, Jayce Berry, Kaya Fender, Lucy Durdahl Fender, Lila Fender, Carmella and Camden Wilson, Arya Fender and Ashton McMurtrey, Sister Daisy Shrock and brother-in-law Ed Fender, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sons David and Ernest Jr., Grandson Gregory and by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held March 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Newcomer Casper Chapel with interment at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Central Wyoming Hospice, Cheyenne VA or Shriners Childrens Hospital are appreciated.

The family will receive friends at the VFW hall at 1800 Bryan Stock Trail at Noon following the service.
