In Memory Of
Ross Michael Coates
1954 - 2019

Ross Coates was born on April 25, 1954 and taken too soon from us on April 4, 2019. What can we say except he was an amazing man who touched many lives. His laughter was contagious and his sense of humor was unique to Rosco; it may have been inappropriate, but it was always witty and you always laughed. He was a big teddy bear who made everyone feel welcome, mainly with a Keystone Light and a piece of elk jerky.

Ross started Coates Construction 44 years ago and since then has built many houses and many friendships along the way. He was not just a contractor, he was a man who loved his craft and loved to create things with his hands. He was also an inventor. Who remembers Bragging Buckles or his newest patented invention, Compressive Barred Brackets. He was a million dollar man with million dollar ideas, but without the million dollars.

Ross had many loves in his life: fishing, hunting, drinking Keystone Light, mowing the lawn with the riding lawn mower, watching “fake news”, and getting first and last hit.

He is survived by his children Katie Wolf, Anna Knopp, Clayton Coates, Brianna Burget and wife, Debra Coates, and siblings, Kathleen, Bruce, and Lance Coates.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Doug Coates.

Please join Ross’s family for a service on Saturday April 6th at 1:30 pm at the Ramada. Afterwards, all are welcome to continue celebrating Ross’s life down at the shop.
