Mabel Katherine Knudsen Kruzich

Mass for Mabel Kruzich (95) will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday November 21 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in at Highland Cemetery.

Mabel died surrounded by family and friends on November 17, 2019 in Casper.

Mabel was born July 28, 1924 to Norwegian immigrants in Rock Springs Wyoming where she attended school graduating in 1943. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.

On June 11, 1950 she married Fred Kruzich in Rock Springs.They lived in Dubois from 1951-1952 moving back to Rock Springs and eventually to Casper in 1954. Mabel worked as a telephone operator and service assistant for Mountain States telephone and telegraph in Rock Springs and for the Natrona County School system in Casper at the cafeteria at Natrona and Kelly Walsh high schools. In later years she kept house for private families. Her interests included being with family and friends taking care of the family dog and cat along with feeding and watching the wild birds and squirrels. She loved animals, making cookies for family and friends, embroidery and listening to all kinds of music and reading. In her younger years she loved to fish and
camp.

Survivors include two sons Martin and wife Jan and Carl of Casper. She was extremely proud of her two step grandsons Greg Lindsay of San Francisco, California and Paul Lindsay of Bozeman, Montana; great grandsons Zachary Lindsay of Bozeman, Montana and Jordan Lindsay of Durango, Colorado and step granddaughter Sage Lindsay (deceased) of Bozeman, Montana as well as her nephews and nieces Gerald and Ron Cotter, Janice and Bob Tracy, Mark and Maryanne Wilcox, and Kenny Wilcox.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Fred in 1982 and an infant daughter Karen Ann and her sister Margaret (Marge) Cotter in 1999 as well a Sister-in-law Helen Wilcox in 2013.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
