Kathleen Ann Herstein-Bihr
1941 - 2020

Kathleen Ann Herstein-Bihr, 78, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2020.

Kathleen was born in Rockford, Illinois on June 26, 1941 to Fred and Evelyn Martin. She graduated from TJ High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1959. She then went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska; where she met Charles Agosta Jr. Out of this union they had a daughter Colleen.

She later met and married the love of her life, George E. Herstein of Wheatland, Wyoming. They moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1975 where they enjoyed raising their three children, Colleen, Mindy and Joe. In the late 70’s, Kathy went to work for the Ramada Inn in their accounting department as the head bookkeeper. She loved working with numbers and in the early 1980’s was offered a position at Wotco in their payroll department which she accepted and later retired from.

Kathy loved to be outside doing almost anything, as long as she could feel the sun on her face. She liked to go fishing and camping. She fell in love with Alcova Reservoir. There wasn’t a weekend that would go by that she wasn’t out on the lake in her boat fishing or just relaxing at her trailer at the lake. She loved spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren.

She is survived by brother, James D. Martin of Council Bluffs, Iowa and by her daughter, Colleen Foster of Casper, Wyoming, daughter, Melinda Marohn (John) of Casper, Wyoming, son, Jody Herstein (Pam) of Wheatland, Wyoming as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also, by her beloved dog, Marty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Evelyn Martin, husband, George Herstein, brother, Ted Davis.

Cremation has taken place and services are being held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Garden Square or Central Wyoming Hospice.
