Michael Kirkwood "Candylee" "Cody Weston"
1953 - 2020

Michael Kirkwood “Candylee” “Cody Weston” passed away peacefully from a long illness of COPD and other Agent Orange related diagnosis on February 14, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 9th, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to Lee and Porter Kirkwood. Soon after his birth they moved to Wyoming where two brothers and a sister were added to the family; Randy Kirkwood, James Kirkwood, and sister, Linda Kirkwood. Later in life with new marriages more siblings were added, William Riggs, John Crane, Deborah Kirkwood, Jody Wagner, Robert Wagner and Jolinna (Black) Clin. He later joined the Marine Corps and spent 2 tours in Vietnam. He later married and divorced several times and had two daughters, and son Cricket, Treva, Michael and adopted son, Kent. His passion in life from a young age was playing his guitar, writing and singing songs, so this is where “Cody Weston” entered his life as he made a C.D. and the producer told him he needed to change his name to something a little more country so he legally changed his name. Later in life, his path took him and his wife, Julie to Louisiana to help with hurricane Katrina. He also felt free to be who he or “She” wanted to be in Louisiana so this is about the time Candylee came into the picture. He ended up staying there and working as a heating and air conditioning repairman. After his wife, Julia passed away his health started deteriorating and he was in the out of the hospital. It was on his last hospital visit that his Nephew Shawn went and packed him up and brought him back to Wyoming so that we could care for him or “her” 24/7. We cared for him or “her” for that past 2.5 years and really got to reconnect as a family. He “She” will be deeply missed. He “She” was preceded in death by his Mother, Ogalee, Father, Porter, all grandparents, sister, Deborah, Brother, Jim, Brother, Robert, and his wife, Julie. He is survived by Brother, Randy Kirkwood, Sister, Linda (Scott), Brother, Jack Riggs (Kathy), Brother, John Crane, Sister, Jodi (Harry), Daughters, Cricket (Denise), Treva (Beau), Son, Michael, and Son, Kent; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
