Dawn, Bryce and I are so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. Our family has so many memories of his loving ways, we know how much he loved you.
We have you in our thoughts and want you to let us know if there is anything we can do to help you at this time. We can not think of our home on 3rd Street, without seeing his mastery of the trades as he tamed that hill! Love to you. Bryce and Ginny Harmelink

David DeWald, what can I say except I have so many great memories of our times together attending Wyoming Professional Photographers Annual Conventions and National Conventions as well. Being roommates and playing tourist and hitting the pubs was some of my fondest memories. You were always the jokester but I always enjoyed your sence of humor. Your loyalty to your friends was amazing. Always thoughtful to others with your cards letting people know where you were on your last outing with Dawn. Miss your voice, and your smile , and most of all your upbeat personality my friend. Rest in Peace buddy!

David was a nice neighbor. I would go over in the Spring and trip his Roses. Last year he wanted to know how to trim them himself, so I showed him what to do. I will miss him waving as I worked in my Roses in the front yard, as he would go places.

I got to know David over 35 years ago attending a WY Professional Photographers Association convention. It was always a pleasure to spend time with David, either at the annual convention, or the summer "photo shoot-outs", or just passing through Casper and having lunch. What a fun loving, and life loving guy. He always made me laugh. I remember when he had his Lincoln Town car limo and we would go for rides. Many, many memories that I will cherish forever. Dawn, it was enjoyable watching you grow up and I want to let you know what a wonderful guy and positive role model your Father was.

I enjoyed visiting with David at our WLPS spring and fall meets. David knew I was passionate about collecting Wyoming motorcycle license plates and very generously gave me a front and back color copy of his 1916 Sheridan Wyoming motorcycle license plate. I will always cherish the color photocopy. It is on my display board with my oldest Wyoming motorcycle license plates. David will be missed by many of us license plate collectors.

David and I collected stickers back in grade school. I was always jealous his collection was much bigger than mine. He will be truly missed. I could go on for hours of the memories with David.

David and I have been close acquaintances since the year 2003. I believe I first met him when I worked for CAEDA and he was dating Liz Becher. When I worked at the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce for 10 years, he would always come in to visit and/or to purchase Casper Cash. One year, after visiting with David, he brought my husband and I some beer that he loved and wanted us to try. When I was no longer working at the Chamber, he and I would occasionally bump into each other around town. He was a wonderful, giving, caring man and I will miss him.

This breaks my heart. I graduated with Dave. He was the most kind hearted guy around. Was always the highlight of every event. Prayers to the Family.

David oftentimes seemed larger than life. Such a Good Friend and I could always count on him for a Laugh, a Smile & a Big Bear Hug! Rest Easy Friend, You will be Missed & Forever Remembered
~ Karrie Hume-Oliver - July 8, 2020
David was a good friend while we attended Park Grade School . The main thing I remember about David is that we would hike all over downtown Casper from one end to the other in search of stickers/decals. David somehow knew the best places to go in and ask. Hitting all of the auto parts stores was at the top of the list. Obtaining a "Cherry Bomb" muffler sticker was the ultimate goal. Besides the auto parts stores we basically went into every business around town asking for decals. David had a huge collection and I did pretty well myself. We would often sit and go through them discussing where we got them and what they meant. We also would go into about every bank asking for "bank bags" that retail stores would use to transport cash. The banks were very generous with the bags and we used them to store our decals and carried them while walking around town. RIP David.

I've known you for many years, way back when you would show up at the lake with the Daigle family. Then of course through high school, who could forget the Trojan! Your yellow car and when you wrecked your yellow car. You have always been one to give your shirt off your back to anyone in need no matter what the problem was, and always willing to have fun. In the past decade, I would run into here and there and it was always a joy to hear you say "hi" and catch up on the latest. I will miss that alot!
I know my mom sure adored you, especially when you just show up and start rebuilding her brick planter just because you had some left over material. I bet she was at heavens gate to greet in, please tell her "hi" for me.
You are going to be missed by so many.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.
Good bye David Dewald RIP!

David is the glue that kept the NCHS Class of 78 together! He named our 78 FB group “Best Class“ because he truly felt our graduating class was remarkable. We are remarkable because of the friendships and love we have for each other. God Bless David Dewald for being the thoughtful, generous, kind and caring person he truly was. He will be missed by all who knew him. He had a gift to make others feel special. He was an entrepreneur, community minded servant and philanthropist. Words cannot express the heartache Pat and I feel and the appreciation we have for our 45 year friendship with David!

I am so very, very sad to hear of David's passing. 16 years ago I met David, about a week after I moved to Casper and we were in the Leadership Casper group. Since moving to SD, David would always call to see if he could stop by and have coffee on his way through. One time, he called me from near Box Elder and he had run out of gas! Of course, I went to take him some gas so he could at least make it to a station. Over the years, David & I exchanged postcards of our travels and I always looked forward to seeing what adventure he was off on! And now, he is on the greatest adventure of all time! We also had a connection through photography and David touched many lives with his photos, humor and love for life. Dawn, your father always told me of your great adventures as well, and he was so very proud to share your story and to share what you were up to as well. I am praying for you and your family to help you through this time.

So sad to hear he has gone to his forever home. We were on a few committees together through the school district. I would see him at the Old Yellowstone Garage events & chat. He would always speak, wherever we would see each other. He will be missed. Hugs to Dawn & his family.
