I remember liking Donn the moment I first met him when Anita brought him home to meet the family
What a warm and winning smile he had. One summer I came to Casper, to visit, and loved the town
as the people were so friendly. Donn was practicing law then and spent hours in the law books, working.
We drove with the family to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. Donn was so patient and kind. He was
truly a genuine man, and cared so much about people, the community, education and enjoyed
talking politics. A wonderful husband, father and friend.
Peter and I and my family send our deepest sympathy and love during this difficult time,
Carol and Peter Kirby ( Anitia's cousin), Washington, DC
Linda and Carl Bell, Dallas , Texas
Wick and Barbara Merchant, Richmond, Virginia
The Burwell's also, Stead, Carter, Caroline and Caton from Virginia

Our community is a better place for having Donn in it. As a teacher I particularly appreciate his thoughtful and sometimes courageous work on the school board. I send my sympathies to Anita and Chelsea and the rest of his family and hope their healing begins soon.

I had the opportunity to serve on the Natrona County School Board of Trustees with Donn. Donn was a passionate supporter of students and staff and was incredibly knowledgeable about district finances and policies. He had an incredible memory and could recall how the district had worked through issues from the past. He was a mentor to me in my first couple of years on the board and we became close colleagues. He was absolutely instrumental in the planning work that led to the new high schools buildings that we have in Casper. He gave 20 years to this school district - what an outstanding public servant! Thank you Donn for your service and passion and friendship. My deep condolences to his family. Highest regards and respect, Dave

I'll never forget Donn and his passion while serving The United Way. He had a good heart and soul.

I had the pleasure of working with Donn during his United Way tenure. He was always so enthusiastic, available and approachable. He showed great leadership with compassion and was successful with his endeavors. Donn always had a kind word and a compliment and always flashed his great big smile. My condolences to his family for the loss of your loved one who left us way too soon. I recognize the picture... Fly high Donn and rest in Gods peace and love.

Donn was a friend and teammate in high school. I remember him for his intelligence and quiet confidence. He was a gifted athlete who shared in the excitement of playing basketball for a brand new school, always leading with steady performances. I am grateful for having known Donn and for the many memories we shared from years gone by. Donn lived a remarkable life, and I know we will all meet again one day. My sincere condolences to Donn’s family. May he Rest In Peace.

I knew Donn when I was a teacher with NCSD. In Donn’s role as a School Board member, he supported teachers mightily. “Mightily” isn’t a word I use often but I do so now with intentionality — Donn’s support and reverence for educators and education was a force. He stood solidly in support —and he did so in the most generous and humble manner. He served people well because he cared so deeply. That was entirely evident. There’s a chance I have known others as kind as Donn — maybe, possibly. But I have most certainly never known anyone more kind than Donn. It was a tremendous privilege to have known Donn. I remain inspired by his example.

Anita and Chelsea--I send my sincere condolences.

I met Donn at the University of Wyoming where we worked together to register voters in Albany County. His belief in the Democratic system pushed him to help support the registration of anyone qualified to vote-regardless of party affliction. Later, as an educator, I appreciated his care and attention to issues surrounding Natrona County School District. Donn’s heartfelt dedication to his children and wife were admirable. My hope is that he finds peace, joy, and love in his next great journey.
