Thomas Russell, age 68, passed away on May 28, 2021.

Thomas Eugene Russell was born in Dennison, Texas on September 17, 1952. He started working at age 15 as a dishwasher in Gillette, Wyoming, then went to Job Corps in Montana. He got a degree in Culinary Arts and became a chef, working in a select few restaurants in Casper, Wyoming. His passions were collecting Eagles and Broncos Football memorabilia. His favorite color was orange.

On February 22, 1992, Thomas married the love of his life, Lorelei Reigert. They were married for 22 wonderful years until her passing in November, 2014.

Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Lorelei; nephew, Timmie Downing; brother, Ricky Joe Russell; father, Oliver Russell; grandparents, Lester and Lois Boylan; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his mother, Betty L. Keane; sisters, Deborah (Flint) Downing and Sherrie (Bruce) Lopez; niece, Tammie (JJ) Carnline and children, Shawn and Jessica Carnline; nephews, Josh (Amanda Lopez) and daughter, Alexis, Ross Lopez and daughter, Isabella, Adam (Jessie) Lopez and children, Kashis and Colina); great-niece, Paige Downing Huerta; best friends, Paul and James, who were his roommates for years during his time at Shepherd of the Valley; and the nurse Thomas loved like family, his bonus niece, Freedom.

Thomas loved life. He was always happy and made friends so easily. Rest in peace, Thomas Eugene Russell. You will be missed dearly by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting you.

A service in Thomas’ honor will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Boyd Avenue Baptist Church.

Cremation has taken place through Newcomer Funerals and Cremations in Casper.
