In Loving Memory of

Harold Geer

1942 - 2022
Harold D. Geer was born in Gillette, Wyoming on November 16, 1942 to H.W. (Bill) Geer and Doris Geer. He and his little brother, Larris, were raised on a ranch south of Gillette. He graduated from Campbell County High School. It was during this time that Harold developed a love for fast cars, target shooting and creating, and fixing and building anything from buildings to horse trailers.

After high school, Harold worked at a filling station and an oil field drilling company prior to moving to Casper. Harold went on to have a long career with Harris Drilling as a head driller during the boom years. Not one to be kept from work, during the bust years Harold would take jobs working in uranium mines and welding for oil field companies. During this time, Harold received a certificate in welding from Casper College. Later on, Harold went to work for J & M Trucking as a truck driver. He enjoyed being out on the road and seeing all of the beautiful sites America had to offer, though he did not enjoy the big cities and being gone from home for long periods of time. After putting a million miles on the road, Harold retired from J & M Trucking as the shop foreman in 2017.

In 1972, Harold married Helen Montgomery, also from Gillette, Wyoming, and became a father to Vicky and Terry Rassbach. Harold and Helen made their home in Casper and in 1975, they had a daughter named Misty. Through the years, Harold enjoyed taking the family on road trips to South Dakota, hauling the travel trailer to different locations in Wyoming, and spending holidays with his family.

On April 18, 2022, at age 79, Harold regained his freedom after a hard fought battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s with complications of a stroke. Harold was a stubborn yet gentle soul who had a hearty laugh, a heart filled with love, stories about everything, and couldn’t be missed in his black cowboy hat.

Harold is preceded in death by Bill Geer, Doris Geer, Larris Geer, and Kegan Rassbach. He is survived by Helen Geer, Vicky (Paul) Gibson, Sean Dorson, Amber Dorson (children, Dayton, Jami, and Blake), Terry Rassbach, Kia Spradlin, Misty (Steve) Fogg, D’Koda Geer, and M’Kayla Geer.

In respect of Harold’s wishes, there will be no viewing and no memorial service. Harold will take his last ride in a plane piloted by his grandson, D’Koda, and will be accompanied by his daughter, Misty, and granddaughter, M’Kayla.
