Michael Eugene "Mike" Barnish
1946 - 2022

Michael E. Barnish, 76, of Casper, WY passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Mike was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 20, 1946, to Francis and Maxine Barnish. He spent the prime of his life working on offshore drilling rigs, most of which were overseas in places such as Egypt, Singapore and Spain. After retiring from the oil industry, he went to technical school in Denver, CO to become an HVAC technician. It was while he was in Denver that he met the love of his life, Rose Mary, who he was married to for 21 years. The two of them returned to Casper, WY where Mike enjoyed playing darts, and watching the Broncos and the Rockies with family. Mike had a great sense of humor to go along with his infectious smile. Mike and Rose Mary hosted many Super Bowl parties and holiday family gatherings. When Mike retired from HVAC as a Journeyman, he and Rose Mary were able to spend a lot of time at Mike’s favorite place, Alcova Reservoir. Mike was a member of the Ski Club for over 35 years, and he was happiest anytime he was fishing on his boat, touring the canyon, or grilling burgers and dogs with family and friends at their place on the lake.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Rose Mary of Casper WY. Son, Brad (Christy) Barnish of Vader, WA. Stepdaughters, Jenifer Sorenson of Casper, WY, Anissa (Tony) Fabrizio of Brighton, CO, and Melany (Tom) Hill of Ft. Collins, CO. Grandchildren, Brayden and Brayleah Barnish. Step-Grandchildren, Justin Schoening, Brandon Fabrizio, Ashton Hill and four Great-Grandchildren. Mike is also survived by his three beloved sisters, Darlene Brown and Janine Smith of Casper, WY and Lynae (Craig) Froman of Greenwood, IN along with many nieces and nephews. Mike loved his family very much, but he also loved his friends like family. His adopted family included John, Rebecca and Catherine Conway.
Mike was preceded in death by both parents, brothers, Richard, Jeff and Patrick Barnish, and 1 sister, Nancy Barnish.
