Delbert Wayne Rayburn Life story video
On Tuesday, October 18, Delbert Wayne Rayburn, a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at the age of eighty-one, preceded by his wife Evelyn Rayburn, who passed on November 18, 2020 and cousin Cleo Briner, who passed February 20, 2022.

Del was born on December 9, 1940 in Port Angeles, WA to Forest Rayburn and Luella Talbott. He was raised by his Aunt June Forgey and Uncle Joe Forgey. Del was a hard-working man and dedicated most of his life working for Forgey Construction. Together with his brother Jim, they ran a business called Mr. Handyman and would offer services regarding painting, fencing, plumbing, carpentry and more. On November 15, 1969, he married Evelyn Miller and raised a daughter and a son, Annette and Scott.

Del was an avid camper and fisherman. He enjoyed visiting the Bighorns and taking his family on adventures in the wilderness. He would generously gift the fish caught to anyone who wanted or needed them. Del was also a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts, and he shared his passion for the outdoors with others, including his kids and grandsons. He also volunteered as a Big Brother for the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring young people as a positive influence in their lives as well as driving for Meals on Wheels for many years. Del enjoyed woodwork in his free time and would dedicate hours in his shop crafting wooden projects. He loved using his vivid imagination with his wood projects. You would also find him in the kitchen baking his favorite treats. He was especially excited for the holidays because he would bake as many pies, cookies, and his renowned “friendship bread” for family and friends. As busy as the man could keep himself, he still devoted time to his faith. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church for years and even volunteered his time towards the construction of renovating the church.

Del was known for his light-hearted personality and was a child at heart. He enjoyed telling stories and pulling playful pranks on the grandkids. He was adamant on spending time with his family. He followed his faith religiously and made all of his decisions through the scope of a Christian man. Del influenced everyone who knew him and will always be remembered as an inspiring teacher to all.

Del is survived by his brother Jim (Jan) Rayburn and sister Lea (Marshall) Hood, his two children Annette Rayburn, Scott (Angela) Rayburn, his grandsons Dominic (Wendy) Rayburn, Andrew (Deanna) Rayburn, River DuLa, and Skyler Larson, his great grandchildren Scott, Serenity, Hunter, Dayton, and Kaydence, as well as many nieces and nephews.
