In Memory Of
Sharon Kay Hanlin
1943 - 2022

Sharon Kay Hanlin, 79, passed away November 1, 2022. She was born to the late Harold and Frances (Stubby) Gillespie on March 16, 1943 in Douglas, Wyoming. Sharon graduated from Douglas High School in 1960 and then went to business school. She married James Hanlin on August 31, 1961. It snowed in their hotel room window during their honeymoon in Yellowstone.

Jim and Sharon raised three children: Todd, Brett, and Tracey. For Jim’s work, they lived in Wyoming, South Dakota, the Canary Islands, Scotland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Dubai, and finally retired in Casper.

Sharon was devoted to her family and adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being silly and having fun with them, and often called herself “Crazy Grandma”. Sharon loved a donut at 11:00 a.m. and ice cream at 8:00 p.m. She especially enjoyed giving gifts that made people smile.

Sharon is survived by her children Todd (Jennifer) of Windsor, Colorado, Brett (Renee) of Powell, Wyoming, and Tracey Hanlin of Casper, her niece Lisa Schied (Syl) and nephew, Steve Hanlin (Mary Beth). Sharon has six grandchildren: Allison Gooderum (Matt), Brian Hanlin (Yara), Emma Hanlin, Meg Hanlin, Davis Coziahr, Kayleigh Coziahr, and great-grandchildren Remy Hanlin, Roman Hanlin, and Morrison Gooderum. Sharon was dearly loved, and she was proud of each family member.

A Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Newcomer Casper Chapel with a reception to follow at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
