In Memory Of
Carol A. Ford
1937 - 2023

Carol Anne Ford passed away on April 28, 2023. Carol was born on July 30, 1937, in Billings, Montana to Anna and Lloyd Beto. She grew up in Billings and after high school worked as an office worker at Hart-Albin department store. Carol married Mel Ford on September 16, 1961, enjoying 61 1/2 years together. They moved to California where she worked for an insurance company as a policy writer before starting a family. Carol and Mel moved to Casper in 1976. Her greatest job was raising two children. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her son Pat and his family going camping and fishing. She was always up for the challenge of a game of cards, a board game, or playing Wii sports with them. Carol and Angelene, her daughter and best friend, could often be heard giggling about nothing when they were together.

Carol enjoyed spending time in her flower garden tending her roses, reading westerns, sewing beautiful square dance clothes, painting landscapes, dancing, camping and vacationing with her family.

Square dancing was an important part of hers and Mel’s life. They were dance partners for 65 years. They taught and cued dancers in 3 different national square dance conventions.

For 10 years they taught square dancing to summer youth groups at Martin’s Cove. They also volunteered at jr high and high schools in Casper teaching Square dancing.

In 2000, at the request of the Casper Chamber of Commerce, they coordinated the USA West Square Dance Festival which hosted over 1000 dancers from around the world.

Carol and Mel enjoyed teaching square dancing and round dancing in Casper for 25 years.

Carol also enjoyed helping her daughter with her volunteer work. She helped with Relay for Life for 13 years. She was also involved in putting on the Bark For Life event for 9 years.

She is survived by her husband Mel Ford of Casper, WY; son, Pat(Carolyn) Ford of Parker, CO; daughter, Angelene(James) Lukenbach of Casper, WY: granddaughters, Kylie Ford of Colorado Springs, CO and Lindsey (Nathan) Goetsch of Windsor, CO.
