Ruth Eleanor Knight, 75, of Sheridan, passed away May 1, 2023 after a short illness.

She was born to the late Walter and Jessie Dunbar on January 3,1948 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Ruth attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, TX and then the University of Texas in Austin attaining an art degree. She met David Knight in San Antonio through the San Antonio Mastersingers and they married in June 1979.

Ruth's passions included art and music. Painting brought her great joy and she had several shows through the years. She was best known for her seascapes and bodyscapes.

Ruth believed that from the Earth we came and when the Lord called us home she should be returned to the Earth. After time and reflection, her daughter will bury her in a biodegradable urn so she may be one with the Earth.

She is survived by her husband, David, her daughter, Jessica, son-in-law, Jace, her brother, Edward, sister-in-law, Denise, and ten nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your local no-kill animal shelter.
