George "Porgy" Roseburr, Jr., 72, of Casper, Wyoming died Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions in Casper.

Porgy was born on February 5, 1951 in Casper, Wyoming to George Roseburr, Sr. and Vivian Mae Green.

Porgy attended Dean Morgan Junior High School and graduated from Natrona County High School. Porgy was an avid basketball player during and after school. He then attended Casper College. After his schooling he started his working career with the City of Casper Sanitation, Haliburton, and Casper Concrete. In May of 2004, Porgy took over the family business, Roseburr Janitorial Services where he operated until the pandemic forced him to retire. Porgy married Ellison Roseburr in 2008 in the living room of the family home. During his retirement and new found time, Porgy loved spending time with friends and family, especially his time with his granddaughter, Jazzlynn, attending her school functions and sporting events. Porgy was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, he also loved to play and watch basketball. In his younger years he would go to Riverview park and play anyone willing to pick up the ball. Porgy also enjoyed spending time playing cards, watching westerns and working on cars with his father, George Roseburr, Sr. whom also recently passed away.

Porgy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald; two sisters, Myra Jean and Vickie Kelly; 4 nieces; and his 3 nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Ellison Roseburr; daughters, LaNicia Washington Roseburr, DaLayna Cook and Jacqueline Smith; stepchildren, Michelle McDaniel, Monique Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Shamika Johnson, Dante Johnson; 9 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.

A celebration of Porgy's Life will be held, the time and location will be posted as it becomes available.
