William John "Bill" Truempler, Jr., passed away on May 24, 2023 in Casper, Wyoming with family members around him. Bill was born January 25th, 1936 to William Sr. and Winifred (Jones) Truempler in Deer River, Minnesota. He married Barbara D. Stinson on June 4th, 1957. They had three children.

Bill served 5 years in the Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Specialist. He spent one year in Bermuda. Upon his discharge, he joined civil service and spent 31 ½ years as a controller until retiring. He worked in Indianapolis, Indiana, Rockford, Illinois, Dickinson, North Dakota, Missoula, Montana, Rawlins, Wyoming, and Hibbing, Minnesota, where he retired. Bill and Barbara retired to Riverton, Wyoming and later to Casper, Wyoming.

Bill received two awards as a controller. He had a plane off course and low on fuel. He talked him down to landing on the highway west of Dickinson, North Dakota. Saving the plane, pilot and the pilot’s young daughter. The second award was for professionalism on the job.

Bill loved attending his grandsons’ baseball games, fishing, camping, & hunting as well as sitting in his lawn swing in the summer.

Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Cristol Lovato of Casper, Wyoming; son, Kenneth (Stacy) Truempler of Litchfield Park, Arizona; grandchildren, Austin (Connie) Lovato; Courtland (Vanessa) Lovato both of Casper, Wyoming; and Derek (Kass) Hoskin; Thomas (Ashley)Wyatt; and Ashlyn Truempler all of Phoenix, Arizona; 7 great-grandchildren, Kolter Lovato; Lauren Wenn; Bridger Lovato all of Casper; Soren Hopkin; Logan and Corbet Wyatt of Phoenix, Arizona; Miles Petrol of Casper; sisters, Dorothy Gorman of Yale, Oklahoma; Lois Shaw of Remer, Minnesota; brothers, Henry “Hank” Truempler of Boise, Idaho; Ralph (Evelyn) Truempler; and Jerry (Lynn) Truempler both of Riverton, Wyoming, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an uncle.

Bill was preceded in death by daughter, Carrie Ann Truempler; granddaughter, Amber Wyatt of Phoenix, Arizona; his parents; sisters, Peggy Cheney, Betty Hanson and Carol Mason;
