In Memory Of
David Michel "Crusher Dave" Ondriezek
1956 - 2023

Dave Ondriezek, age 67, a resident of Alcova, Wyoming, passed away in his home on Thursday, October 26, 2023 after a difficult battle with cancer.

Dave was born on March 10, 1956 to Dorothy and Thomas Ondriezek in Warren, Ohio. After high school, he moved to Canon City, Colorado and his grand adventures began. He dabbled in dairy farming, crane operations, mining, bridge and road construction and finally found his passion of rock crushing. This earned him the nickname of “Crusher Dave.” All of these occupations took him from place to place including Denver, Black Forest, Colorado, and Crowell, Texas, until he finally found a place to call his own; Alcova, Wyoming. He worked for McMurry Redi-mix for more than 20 years under the supervision of his friends Neil and Ron McMurry. Dave supervised over 200 people while employed there and made a reputation for himself as a firm, fair and hands-on boss that cared for each of his workers.

While working for McMurry Redi-mix during the day, Dave was building his forever home at night. He spent every evening excavating the land, pouring concrete, hanging drywall and attending to every detail of his homestead. He lived in the home he built for the remainder of his life. Dave was a skilled fisherman and hunter and enjoyed anything that had to do with the great outdoors. He loved his Harley and was most often caught in a Harley Davidson shirt. As someone that excelled in nearly everything he touched, he was also a talented craftsman that loved woodworking. His talents resulted in dozens of beautiful birdhouses that became a community staple and many other projects, like the gorgeous table he finished just before his passing.

Dave met his wife Cyndi in 2020 in Red Lodge, Montana at the Beartooth Biker Rally. They were instantly drawn to each other and after a whirlwind love affair, they were married on April 11, 2021. They lived happily together in Alcova where they shared a home, hobbies and lots of love and laughter. Dave always wanted children of his own and quickly took on the title of Papa Dave to Cyndi’s four children and six grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his wife Cyndi, his sisters Beth Dockham, Shelly Jones, Connie Dundon, stepchildren Cameron, Chelsea, Caleb and Clayton, their spouses Danielle, Michael, Cece and Cayla, grandchildren Faith, Nathaniel, Jill, Haven, Emry, Wallace and Levon, and 11 nieces and nephews. Dave is preceded in death by his mother, father, and sisters Loree and Darlene.

Dave was a good ‘ol country boy that loved his family and friends deeply. He had a gruff exterior but a big heart. You always knew Dave was around because where Dave was, there was also laughter. His fish tales and wild stories kept everyone on their toes! He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him. He was generous, loyal, brave and loved Jesus unapologetically. Life won’t be the same without Dave. We know he’s looking down on us today and toasting us with a hearty, “Right on.”

Dave's memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Trout On™ Inn, 18193 State Highway 220, Casper, WY 82604
