Adele Paulsen Whitlock, 84, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026. She was born to Arnold Christian Paulsen and Goldie Marie Chatterton in Salt Lake City, Utah. Adele graduated from Bingham High School in 1959. She met Homer El Ray Whitlock dragging State Street in Salt Lake City with her twin sister, and Adele and Homer married on December 8,1959 in Wells, Nevada. They moved often in the early years of their marriage, including to Eagle Mountain, California; Tucson, Arizona; Ishpeming, Michigan; Perth, Western Australia; and Elon College, North Carolina; before settling in Casper, Wyoming in 1977. Adele earned a degree in Business from the University of Wyoming in 1988. She managed the back office at Wyoming Work Wearhouse for over twenty years.
Homer and Adele raised six children: Beverly Lorimer (Dean), Warren Clifford Whitlock (Cindy), Paul Norman Whitlock (Janelle), Katrina Snyder, William Roland Whitlock (Tina) and Nathan El Ray Whitlock (Amy). They have 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Adele is survived by her six children, her sisters Maureen Anderton, Patti Huntsman, Jane Tanski, Ann Freeman, and brothers Arnie Paulsen and Larry Paulsen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Adele joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after marrying Homer, and they were sealed to each other and their children in the Mesa, Arizona temple on June 3, 1967. She loved serving in various callings in the church, including Cub and Boy Scouts, LDS Relief Society, and as a service missionary at the Martin’s Cove Mormon Trail Site visitors’ center.
Adele had many talents and loved to read and learn. She knitted, embroidered, made porcelain dolls, decorated cakes, and made clothing.
Services will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1075 Morado Drive, Casper, Wyoming. Viewing will be in the Relief Society Room from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. An additional viewing will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, Utah. Interment will immediately follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
