Alaura Denelle Garriott, 59, of Casper, Wyoming went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 5, 2025.

Alaura was born on June 14, 1965 in Denver, Colorado to Dennis and Annette McCulloch. She had many residences across many different states over the years.

Alaura was a long-time caregiver. She was employed by I-Reach until a back injury caused her to become disabled. She had had several back surgeries. Her kidneys gave up and she was placed on dialysis. Due to a blood clot, she had a below the knee amputation on April 28, 2025. She was just getting prepared to go to rehabilitation when she ended up with a blood clot in her neck which caused a severe stroke. This stroke was nonsurvivable and she was placed on comfort care.

She married her first husband, Sander Smith in 1991. They later divorced. Sander had three children when her and Sander were married that she raised as her own.

Then she met Wesley Garriott in June 2005. They were married on May 26, 2006. Wes in turn was a caregiver to Alaura in her time of need until she earned her angel wings.

Alaura is survived by her husband of 19 years, Wesley Garriott, her mother Annette McCulloch; her son Cody Smith (Jennifer); her fur babies Toby and Snickers; her sisters Kathy McCulloch, Melissa Brandt and Denise Robinson; stepchildren Daniel, Amanda, Jesi-Lea and Anita; her grandchildren Emmett, Maddox and Bryce; her sister-in-law’s that she considered to be her sisters, Timmie Fischer (Arlin) and Janet Sipp (Dale); several step grandchildren and two great step grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father Dennis L McCulloch; a son Dennis A McCulloch, her infant daughter Taryn and infant son Tommy and her grandparents.

Alaura loved to cook, crochet and garden. Tomatoes and flowers were her specialty. She needed Wesley to help her plant and tend to her garden the last few years. She loved to read and had a collection of books. She had an expansive unicorn collection and butterflies. She loved her Lord and read her bible faithfully. Alaura loved her coffee and would drink it all day.

One of her favorite bible verses is: John 3:16: For God so the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not parish but have eternal life.
