From Colorado, they moved to Shoshoni, Wyoming, where he worked on bridge construction. From Shoshoni they moved to Casper, where Allen, Stella, and their good friend, Ferrin Frazier, started F&M Ready Mix Company.

Allen and David started school in Colorado, then Shoshoni, and then went to Willard Grade School and Dean Morgan Junior High School. Both boys graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper. Allen also attended Casper College. The boys spent many summer days swimming, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, and playing in Lake McKenzie off Bryan Stock Trail.

Allen married Nayna Louk on November 24th, 1964. They divorced August 15th, 1995. He then married Elvisa Gabato on January 29th, 1997. Elvisa died from cancer January 20th, 2001. Allen and Sally D. Enano married November 9th, 2002.

Allen was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed his vast library. He also collected stamps, coins and comic books. He greatly loved and enjoyed his many dogs throughout his life. He loved music and played piano and guitar. He also was a charter member of the Casper Troupers Drum and Bugle Corp, where he played the trumpet. In his 30’s he began a lifelong bible study and became a certified Bethel Bible instructor. He also loved hot rods and race cars, motorcycle, playing bridge, playing chess, weightlifting, watching movies and travelling. He followed in his grandfather’s (Orville Allen McKenzie) footsteps when he became a Mason. He also served in the Wyoming Army National Guard.

Allen’s first job was with FM Ready Mix. He then worked for Green Oil, and for a concrete block plant. He worked for the Texaco Refinery, and owned two motels and apartments. He also did asbestos abatement for Enviro Engineering at Dave Johnston Power plant for several years. Due to health issues he stopped working in 2003 and just enjoyed his books, his dogs and occasional travels with his wife, both domestic and internationally.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother David. He is survived by his wife Sally; his nephew David Alexander McKenzie Jr. and his wife Patty, and their son Alex; his niece Ann Christine McKenzie; and his nephew, Richard Allen McKenzie.
