Barbara Ann Simmons

Barbara A. Simmons passed away on July 17, 2025. She had been in ill health for some time. Barbara was born to Melba (Chunn) and Barry Sizemore in Victoria, Texas on October 27, 1936. She grew up mostly in the South and the family moved to Casper from Natchez, Mississippi in June of 1951.

She attended NCHS graduating in 1955 and then enrolled in the nursing program at Casper College graduating in 1958. She married J.D. “Dugan” Simmons on April 17, 1958. Barbara enjoyed sewing and needlework and was an avid reader. Barbara and Dugan were active members of the Shriners and she held various leadership roles in Eastern Star. Barbara and Dugan were members of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son Jeffrey, two grandsons Jessie and Jeremiah and her sister Janice Jacquot of Laramie. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Dugan Simmons and son John Michael Simmons.

No services are planned at this time and she has been cremated.
