Brian Joseph Garrett, 65, of Casper, passed away Monday December 8, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Long Beach, CA on January 27, 1960. He graduated from Westminster High School in California and immediately began his lifelong career as an automotive mechanic. Brian was an avid supporter of justice. During his career, he documented and maintained undercover cars for the State of California that allowed the police to shut down corrupt facilities and make the community safer. Even after moving to Casper, he did his best to provide sound understandable advice to the community with over 20 years of service at Dave’s Automotive.
In addition to his love of cars, Brian loved camping and spending time outdoors, especially with his family. He loved to grill, even in the middle of winter, and loved food so spicy it literally made him sweat. Thankfully, he always had plenty of ice cream to quench the fire and if that wasn’t enough, a nap could cure anything. He was a dedicated Broncos and Rams fan but genuinely loved sports of all kinds.
Most notably, Brian was best known for his wicked sense of humor. Even in his final days, he would strive to make those around him laugh and smile.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Garrett, of Casper. Two children: Aubre Lassiter and Ryan Garrett of Casper. Three stepchildren: Christiana Kelly of Turtle Lake, ND. Brenna DeMarce of Saint David, AZ and Alexi Vasko of Denver, CO. Six grandchildren and his siblings Tim Garrett, James Garrett, John Garrett, Mary Boyce, and Therese Casebolt.
He was preceded in death by his parents Katy Thompson Garrett and Clinton Garrett as well as two siblings Tony Garrett, and Diana Cameron.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions.
The family respects Brian’s wishes not to have a formal service but a celebration of life will take place after at a later date.
