Carole Ann (Laughner) Glenn, 84, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Central Wyoming Hospice, with her loved ones by her side. Carole, the youngest of three children, was born on December 8, 1940, in McGrann, Pennsylvania, to Harry O. Laughner and Laura (Vause) Laughner. She grew up in Manorville, Pennsylvania and attended school at Ford City Junior–Senior High School, where she was a majorette. Carole graduated from high school in 1958 and enrolled in nursing school, from which she graduated in 1961. After graduating from nursing school, Carole joined the United States Air Force, where she served as a Captain and registered nurse for five years. While stationed in Spain, Carole met Richard S. Glenn of Sinclair, Wyoming and they eventually married in November 1966 after returning to the States. Carole was honorably discharged from the USAF that same year, at which time she began her civilian nursing career and started a family. Although Richard and Carole did not remain married, they had two children and were friends at the time of Carole’s passing.

Carole was an amazing lady who wore many hats – mom, dog mom, registered nurse, artist, and friend. She was a loving, caring, and patient parent who always put her kids first. She never missed a game, race, band concert, or other event, and she was an excellent role model. Carole was also a wonderful dog mom who rescued and adopted several dogs over the years. She enjoyed walking and working with her dogs and loved each one of them very much. Carole also enjoyed various forms of artwork, whether creating it or admiring it. She was a talented artist who enjoyed working in multiple mediums – painting, drawing, encaustics, ceramics, miniatures, and scratch boards. Carole was active in the local art community and had several different works of art displayed in shows at The Nic, and also sold a lot of her artwork. Not only was Carole creative and artistic, she was also an excellent registered nurse, a career she pursued throughout her life. She gained experience in several different areas of nursing, but Carole found her calling as a surgical nurse. She was a very skilled and dedicated surgical nurse, and she ultimately retired from Wyoming Medical Center. Carole made many friends throughout her nursing career, as well as through her dog park adventures and her involvement with the local art community. She always had a kind smile, an ear to lend, or a laugh to share. Whether it was through her dedication to her kids, her nursing career, helping others, or being a good friend, Carole brought much happiness to the people in her life and brightened the world.

Carole is survived by her daughter, Cheri Glenn of Casper, Wyoming. She is also survived by her dear friend William Houston of Casper, Wyoming, her cousins William Laughner and Rosemarie Smith of Pennsylvania, her cousin Kathryn Coyle of Texas, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Laura Laughner, her sister Gail Laughner, her brother Robert Laughner, and her son Michael Glenn.
