Listen to Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Cathy Lynn Carson, who left us on October 2, 2025, at the age of 75, in Casper, Wyoming. Surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, Cathy was a woman who cherished every moment spent with those she loved most.

Cathy was born on September 12, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas, to William and Edith Pool. She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1968 before beginning a successful career in banking at Hilltop National Bank. Alongside her professional accomplishments, her greatest and proudest role was being a devoted mother to her two sons.

Her sons were truly the center of her world. Cathy poured her heart into raising them with love, guidance, and unwavering support. Nothing brought her more joy or pride than watching them grow and her love for them was endless. She was a devoted mother to Brandon Taro (Valerie) and Bart Meisinger (Tiffany), a proud grandmother to Tace Meisinger, Tavee Tarver (Wyatt), Rachel Taro, Cassidy Taro, and a joyful great-grandmother to Kimzey Meisinger and Huxley Tarver.

Cathy’s life was filled with accomplishment, compassion, and service. Deeply passionate about her church and community, she found purpose and fulfillment in serving others. She gave her time generously through volunteer work, always eager to lend a helping hand. She also found delight in life’s simple pleasures, cooking, baking, and spending time in the sun brought her peace and joy, which she shared freely with her family and friends.

Cathy had a deep appreciation for nature and all its beauty. She delighted in the songs of birds, the colors of wildflowers, and the wonder of sunsets and sunrises. She cherished peaceful walks outdoors, quiet moments with her family, and the satisfaction she found in her work. Her ability to find joy in the simple things was a gift she passed on to everyone who knew her.

Cathy is survived by her loving sons and their families, and by her cherished siblings: Sheila Carr (Carl), Brenda Burke (Joe), William Pool Jr. (Tammy), and Melanie Freismuth (Phil). They all loved her dearly and are deeply grateful to have shared their lives with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Pool, and her granddaughter, Rachel Taro.

A service to honor Cathy’s life will be held at Highland Park Community Church, 5725 Highland Drive, Casper, WY 82609, on Thursday, October 9th, at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and celebrate her memory.
