Charles E. Skinner

May 1, 1932 — November 19, 2022

Charles "Chuck" E. Skinner, 90, passed away peacefully on Nov.19, 2022 in his home in Douglas, Wyoming surrounded by his loving wife of 68 years, his daughter and 2 granddaughters.

He was born May 1, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was avid golfer until ill health and loved to go on fishing trips to Canada. He also loved to drive and read old wild west westerns. He loved Wyoming and was happy to move to "God's Country" as he called it.

He served his county in the US Army during the Korean War, with 1 1/2 years in Japan and 1 1/2 years in Korea.

Chuck was a commercial truck driver and loved it. He drove around Milwaukee County and over the road. He drove new city buses to their destination and a senior bus in Phoenix, Arizona. In his senior years he drove the mine bus to North Antelope Mine. He was a great driver that many of the miners were glad about so they could sleep on their long drives to and from work in any conditions. He retired at the age of 80.

In his younger years he liked to play baseball and was very involved in the VFW serving as Commander in 1980.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Seelow) Skinner; daughter, Sue (Rex) Asselin; granddaughters, Deanna (Jesse) Cheney and Brenda (Shannon) Armstrong and 7 great grandsons, Zakary Lenhart, Jordan Jackson, Ty Larson, Kaydan Jackson, Tait Larson, Skylar Jackson and Tanner Cheney; and brother, Sheldon (Laverne) Gilbertson, many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Grace (Preibe) Skinner; siblings, Dick Gilbertson, Marlene Engert, Sharon Vaughn and Jack Gilbertson.
